BunnyChats Case Study
4 weeks
User Experience

The outcome for this design case study is a visual task organization tool that helps users easily identify high-priority work, even with new tasks coming in. This feature is made to integrate smoothly into the Bunnychats platform and align with its overall user experience.
  • Create a scaleable system focused on usability & function
  • Enrich advanced technical skills in Figma, such as auto-layout, master components, and variables
  • Learn how design works in collaboration with product management and engineering

The platform

BunnyChats
is a startup that creates innovative tools to help enterprises stay connected and collaborate more efficiently.

End-users currently find it difficult to prioritize tasks amid the constant flow of new work, and need a task management system that helps them focus on the most important tasks without feeling overwhelmed.

Ask

  • What helps me quickly organize information into categories?
Users want intuitive ways to sort tasks and information logically, helping them manage their workflow more efficiently.
  • How can different levels of priorities be communicated visually?
Visual hierarchy and UI elements, such as color-coding, icons, or labels, should be used to ensure that task priorities are easily understood at a glance.
  • Who should be able to see my priorities?
Depending on the context of their work, users want control over who has visibility over their task priorities Out of privacy concerns.

Analyze

We are trained on Bunnychats’ visual system and brand guidelines prior to collecting references and making moodboards. Furthermore, I research Manuel Lima’s work in data visualization for examples of corporate information design.

Act

The idea began taking shape in the form of wireframes for a modular task prioritization feature that allows users to set priorities based on deadlines, importance, and workload. This system is integrated directly into the existing flow of messaging and collaboration.

I further expanded on the existing brand palette by adding yellow as a tertiary color, using it In addition to simple shapes as visual indicators for the user interface.

iterate

I worked closely with the product manager Throughout this process to ensure the BunnyTasks feature aligns with BunnyChats' user journey and visual identity.

I then streamlined the design to make it responsive, as well as improve on its clarity and effectiveness before handing the work over to product engineers.
